ADMINISTRATION
Educational Director:
Rita Merk
Rita Merk , a native of Germany and co-founder of RMS, holds a degree in Primary Montessori Education (AMI) and a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She has instructed German Language programs for children ages three to twelve for ten years, working for The German School of Atlanta. She has taught in Montessori schools for over thirty years. Ms. Merk, as the private instructor for a seriously physically/mentally handicapped child, integrated the child into a Montessori classroom. She serves as the Educational Director for RMS. She has lived and studied in Germany, England, France, Greece and the US.

Administrative Director:
Julie Orr
Julie Orr, a parent of two sons who attended Renaissance, Ms. Julie holds a BS in Design and worked in the communications design and technology industry for 14 years. Originally from Ohio, she has lived in Los Angeles, New York City and Boston before settling in Atlanta with her family. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor for children with reading disabilities and has also volunteered her tutoring time with adult literacy programs in Atlanta.

Lead Teacher: Eniola
Kalimara
Eniola Kalimara, a native of Wisconsin, holds a degree in Primary Montessori Education (AMI). She has over twenty-four years of experience in Montessori schools as a Montessori parent, teacher, and administrator. Ms. Kalimara is an independent student of traditional Afrikan societies, studying their survival throughout the Diaspora. Her studies have led her to travel throughout Brazil. She has an interest in the arts, and shares her special talent in music with the children.

Assistant Teacher:
Molley Eberhart
Ms. Molley Eberhart, a native of Southwest Atlanta, has worked in Montessori schools for over twenty-three years. She joined the staff of Renaissance near our inception and has served as an Assistant Teacher and Director of After School Services. She tutors children from her church community, instructs Sunday school and is a former in-home teacher/nurse of a Down Syndrome child. Ms. Eberhart is an active volunteer in her community, serving shelters and soup kitchens and other charities.

Lead Teacher: Rebecca Calvetti
Rebecca Calvetti, Coming from Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Rebecca brings eight years of childcare experience and several languages to her Montessori teaching experience at Renaissance. Ms. Rebecca is enthusiastic in her focus on Montessori education and its long-term benefits for children. She holds a BA in English and World Literature from Case Western Reserve University, and is AMI certified through the Montessori institute of Atlanta. She is multi-lingual; fluent in Italian and French and attaining fluency in Spanish.

Rose Miller
Ms. Rose Miller, a native of South Carolina, holds a certification in Early Childhood Education. She has taught children in a preschool environment for almost twenty years. Ms. Miller has served as a manager of a home for the mentally ill. Having reared her own children, she now enjoys time with her grandchildren.

Elementary Teacher:
Adria Jackson
Ms. Adria has been teaching in the Montessori elementary classroom for eight years, and leading the classroom for five. She was awarded her A.A. in Liberal Arts and her B.A. in Humanities. She completed her AMS Elementary Certification at the Institute of Montessori Studies in Florida.

Elementary Teacher:
Janice Merritt
Ms. Janice Merritt, whose daughter attended Renaissance for seven years, holds a BS in Human Ecology and is AMI Certified through the Montessori Institute of Atlanta. Ms. Janice has been a Montesori teacher for five years. Before becoming a Montessori teacher, she taught English in the Phillipines through the Peace Corps.

AFTERCARE
Primary: Ms. Wanda Brown
Ms. Wanda Brown, is a grandmother of five, and native of Atlanta. Ms. Wanda is a long-standing volunteer at Sheltering Arms, serving as a caregiver for young children, and is also the youth Sunday school teacher at her church.

Elementary: Ms Gathegu Gatungo
Ms Gathegu Gatungo (Ms. Cici), a native Of Kenya, Ms. Cici brings an exciting outdoor focus to the Elementary aftercare program. Ms. Cici holds a BA in Integrated Studies from Brevard College and holds a minor in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education. She manages our school garden year-round and helps the Elementary children plant, maintain and harvest their work in the garden and around the school campus.
